For the fifth year, the UCF United Way Campaign Team has collected books to support the Heart of Florida United Way’s summer literacy book drive. The drive occurs during the month of May and supports the Day of Action volunteer events and other literacy initiatives throughout the summer. UCF has contributed 1,793 books since our first book drive in 2013.
On June 21st, six of our campaign team members joined the Untied Way Day of Action. We adopted a project at UCP of Central Florida for the second year, where we read to children and did art projects with them. After volunteering, we had the honor of sorting and distributing books that the children were able to take home with them.
UCP of Central Florida’s unique inclusive education model empowers children with and without disabilities to achieve their potential by providing individualized support, education and therapy in an inclusive environment.
You are invited to attend the Making Miracles Tour at UCP Bailes Campus (located in Research Park), on 7/11/2017 at 9:00 a.m. for a first-hand look at the services and impact this agency has on our community. Register for more information. UCP is a United Way partner agency.
